Understanding Self and Other
Certificate in TA Theory and Practice
One-year training in foundational TA principles, with a focus on clinical skills and
the four fields of TA: organisational, educational, counselling and psychotherapy
Summary
As CPD or as a foundation in further transactional analysis or therapeutic training, our certificate offers a chance to develop clinical skills with a broad base of knowledge.
Our Certificate year offers students a chance to fully understand the core models used in TA - and how to apply them in a number of settings to address internal and interpersonal concerns.
The syllabus covers the main theoretical models used in Transactional analysis, including Ego States, Games, Script and Group Dynamics.
Our focus on the four fields allows for application within organisations and education, as well as a foundation in counselling or psychotherapy practice.

About Transactional Analysis (TA)
TA is an approach developed by Eric Berne in the 1960's and developed by a wealth of authors, which offers a modality of counselling or psychotherapy to help understand human development and relationships.
Famously TA uses models such as Ego States, the Drama Triangle or Script analysis to help make sense of psychological concerns. TA has since been further developed by many authors and therapists to offer updated relational and intersectional perspectives.
TA has also been developed and applied within organisations and education with great success.

These workshops are especially meaningful for people considering our longer courses, as they offer a taster of the style, methods and philosophy of our training approach. The event is also useful for those considering CPD in interpersonal or therapeutic approaches.
The syllabus for a 101 is set to specific requirements in order to cover a range of TA theory, and is standardised across the TA community.
